We are only halfway through the year and The Junk Tycoons has helped residents in the Metro Atlanta area get rid of tons and tons of junk. A good portion of the waste removal ended up in landfills, but we also do our part to direct recyclables and reusables to appropriate locations, whether that’s by donating used furniture or recycling appliances and metals. To celebrate the first half of a year’s work, we are putting together a recap of the top junk removal items. If you are taking care of some much-needed spring cleaning or simply have junk laying around, then call The Junk Tycoons to have unwanted items hauled away quickly and safely.
The COVID pandemic had a few silver linings, and one benefit was that it added a cushion to most people’s savings. With less spent on entertainment and going out, more money was directed toward purchases for furniture and home furnishings. As homeowners brought in the new, they sent out the old. The Junk Tycoons helped haul away countless tons of mattresses, sofas, tables, and chairs. We are pleased to say a lot of these were in fairly usable condition and could be donated to charities.
A refrigerator and other large appliances are not things you can simply toss on the side of the road for the local waste collector to grab. We are not saying this because we doubt your strength. These appliances are problematic because they can contain hazardous components such as refrigerant, oil, mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls, ozone-depleting substance, and more. These substances must be properly disposed, and The Junk Tycoons knows how. We have donated, recycled, or properly disposed of dozens of refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, and other appliances so far this year.
With more and more streaming and movie-watching options now offering 4k video, many homeowners and business owners have moved to upgrade their entertainment experience. As you do out with the old and in with the new, The Junk Tycoons is on standby to help you properly dispose of used televisions. Televisions can contain mercury, lead, and other hazardous materials which must be safely disposed. The Junk Tycoons has donated numerous functional televisions, recycled many more, and properly disposed of non-recyclable or non-reusable components.
Sales of treadmills and other home-fitness gear surged during the pandemic, doubling in many cases. With people back out on trails and in gyms, the treadmills have become nothing more than oversized coat racks. The Junk Tycoons has helped homeowners reclaim valuable space in their homes by hauling away dozens of treadmills and other home-fitness gear. We have found that many were not working and could be recycled, but some were functional and could be donated to charities.
